STDLE - Security Training Directly Linked to Employment

The Security Training Directly Linked to Employment is a 6 week program.The first 4 weeks participants  will be in a class environment followed by a 2 week field work placement for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

The program will meet the needs of the participants by offering opportunities as a Security Guard with employers across the city.

Upon completion of the program participants will have the following learning outcomes:
  • A valid Security Guard License (issued by the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services)
  • WHMIS Certificate
  • First Aid / CPR
  • Clear understanding of the Security Industry
  • Resume
  • Cover Letter
To be eligible for the STDLE program participants must be:
  • Referred by a TESS worker
  • Be at least 18 years (19 if considering work in a licensed establishment)
  • Entitled to work in Canada
  • Possess a clean criminal record
  • Have a mailing address in Ontario
  • Be able to complete all screening and application forms
