Get in Gear is an exciting program created by Gateway Cafe and West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Centre on behalf of the City of Toronto, and is now funded by the Youth Challenge Fund. It is an exciting initiative that can help your clients eliminate some of the financial barriers standing between them and meaningful employment.

Most of the interaction between Get In Gear and participating agencies is carried out over the internet. Participating agencies are given access to a special section of our website. This section allows agencies to monitor the activity of their clients and to search the extensive Get In Gear Training Database for training opportunities throughout the city. It also provides an easy way for agencies to contact program staff and allows staff to monitor the success of the program.

The Get In Gear Essential Items project will allow employment agencies to provide their clients with the items they need in order to start their job. It also has a special section of our website, that allows agencies to monitor their inventory of essential items, request new items, as well as keep track of the items they distribute to clients.

This program is an invaluable tool for youth serving agencies throughout the Greater Toronto Area. For more information and to register to become a partner of Get In Gear Training & Essential Items simply click on 'Agency Sign Up', fill in the form, and a staff member from our program will contact you as soon as possible.
